Our commitment to digital accessibility. Last updated April 1, 2026.

Our commitment

Proficient Home Finance is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards to make sure we provide equal access to our products, services, and information.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. Our website and customer portal are designed to be conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. "Conformant" means that the content fully conforms to the accessibility standard without any exceptions.

What we do

  • Use semantic HTML and ARIA landmarks so screen readers can navigate efficiently.
  • Maintain color contrast ratios that meet or exceed WCAG AA minimums (4.5:1 for body text).
  • Ensure all interactive elements are keyboard-accessible with visible focus indicators.
  • Provide alt text for meaningful images and label form fields explicitly.
  • Test with NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver during major releases.
  • Support browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
  • Avoid using color alone to convey information.

Assistive technology compatibility

Our site is designed to work with the following assistive technologies in their latest stable versions:

  • Screen readers: NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack
  • Browsers: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari
  • Operating systems: Windows 10+, macOS 12+, iOS 16+, Android 12+

Known limitations

Despite our best efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. Areas we are actively improving:

  • A few legacy PDF guides may not have a fully tagged structure — we are remediating these on a rolling basis.
  • Embedded third-party video players inherit the accessibility characteristics of their host platform; we are migrating to providers with stronger captions and keyboard support.
